  Last.fm keeps me updated on the new stuff. You just enter a tag or artist you're into and it plays related music. You can always press ban if plays a tune not exactly to your liking.

  I have been a member of this for some time. Superb stuff. AlfieUK is my profile on there. I use the desktop application they have to scrobble [list online as part of my `recently played` list] all the stuff I have in my iTunes on the desktop or iPod.
  
  To add things in to the profiles here would probably not be that difficult. Two ways they do it on Facebook is with the player visible - which is nice - and just a list of `Now playing`. They player embedded in our profile would be nice.
